Stories of the open road

Tales of a Vagabond...

By Pathum Punchihewa

We love to know that we are not alone… You are not alone!

“Once upon a time there was a little mermaid who believed in the miraculous power of the word  ‘love’… Her love glazed the sky. Blossomed thousand flowers around her… yes, she loved so unconditionally, and that is what love itself is. Then one day a cataclysm, a thunderstorm came and destroyed her vivid dreams of love, and deluge razed the radiant colours of the flowers around her, suddenly her life so harsh that she was glazed in pain.Ideally most call this situation Heartbreak. She lost her desires of life, she lost her brightness and started to fade away. Then she met a  Love Guru and he gave her a shoulder to cry on and time eternal. Sad story indeed and the intensity of that love story makes this Love Guru  cross all over  this feature article!”

Love Guru always debated against teenage love based on the premise that they are not mature enough to taste the real essence of love. Teenage love can be mere erotic attraction or ‘worshiping heroes’ mentality and so on. But Love Guru never says to stop love but he always says to follow your heart and let your mind be the limit to your philosophy on love.

“Why did we come to this world? What is the point of all those stage acts, Operas with music, librettos and applause we get to perform within few hours of short life time? The answer is not simple but worthwhile understanding. We are here for a purpose. The purposes which stand by are to keep the balance, the purpose which describes the existence of the universe…”

I wrote this paragraph above to make her understand the meaning of her existence, make her believe that she has a purpose,  simply saying, to give her an Adrenaline shot to charge up her life!

lovers_by_selfhaircuts Love Guru always quotes that once the flower of love blossoms, it never withers. That’s the miracle of love. If you love somebody once, you simply cannot put him/her away. It stays with you till the end of your thoughts which means your life. Even if you start to hate the person, you cannot deny the fact that you still love that person. It is the blessing and curse of love!

And there is more to think before we love again. We always love things like images and icons in our hearts and we like to see those images as perfect  figures or idols. We believe in the perfection of the things we love and when we realize that our blinded vision is something very far from reality we collapse. Yes, I still remember the word for those situations, heartbreaks!

Now let’s read those two paragraphs again together,  Accept people as they are. Leave them if they are not your type, but never weep over a love broken! There are so many things in life than to weep and regret but to live rejoice and feel…

Now as the footer note for the article, and for the elation of my  dear readers I would like to add that my dear friend, the little mermaid is now seeing the world as it really exists, which means she understands the balance and her purpose and her heart is good as new!

Remember that you don't choose love. Love chooses you. All you can really do is accept it with all its mystery when it comes into your life. Feel the way it fills you to overflowing realms, then reach out and give it away. Give it back to the person who brought it to life in you. Give it to others who deem it poor in spirit. Give it to the world around you in any way you can.... These words are for you…

“This is the miracle that happens every time to those who really love; The more they give, the more they will possess… To love one who loves you, to admire one who admires you… Love somebody who loves you, not somebody you love…”
