“An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves” Says Bill Vaughn. Today is the 30th of the last month of the year and its minus 48 hours and counting till the New Year dawns!
Now, are you a person that waits till the New Year eve to recall past painful and pleasurable memories of the old year and see the old year pass or are you a person that bangs your head with high tempo DJ music and gets drunk to the hilt and celebrates the New Year Eve until the first sign of dawn comes to welcome the upcoming year?
Oh, this is becoming a preachy article that questions your morals and mandates on what you do and don’t do. All you guys and girls are big enough to decide what’s best for yourselves so my preaching is over with this: “Many people look forward to the New Year for a new start on old habits.” Its such a good quote to keep in mind and understand or just mention at a NYE party. Still your life, your choice!
Now, about that New Year’s Eve partying part: Do you have an idea about what you really should wear on the NYE beach party to impress ladies or look swanky? Yes, if you wish to attend the nearest beach to celebrate the New Year; attire should be a top list concern, that is if you really want to impress other teens and enjoy!
Today, Sri Lanka is witnessing a vast growing party culture and end of the Calendar is also a very accurate reason for party goers to celebrate. And it’s not just another club party or a beach party if you ask me. It’s New Year Eve and it carries a symbolic meaning of a fresh start.
I personally believe that there should be one cardinal rule of partying till midnight of New Year Eve. Less or no Alcohol... Why would you want to dash in to a NY party if you want to get drunk as a skunk? Just take my word my dear friends, you might find out Alcohol is fun, but it will ruin all the New Year Eve fun. Will you be able to countdown seconds till the midnight and wish and scream “Happy New Year” to a random and gorgeous girl if you are dead drunk? If No Alcohol, It’s more fun!
If you are a teen who is craving to start the fresh New Year with fresh romantic feelings, I’d say New Year Eve is your Garden of Eden if you are wise enough! Every New Year party offers some activities and fun games until the midnight, and surprises too. Why don’t you fasten your guts and invite a total stranger for to be a part of those activities with you? Well, it doesn’t mean that ‘rigid’ girls get ‘smooth’ on NYE, but still the night has a different feeling and the breeze has a different tone! NYE only comes once every 365 days after all!
It’s party time in NYE and I say what matters most is that you are well aware about how you spent your passing year and how ready you are to face the new year and how you urge someone to stay happy! It’s always better to spend the New Year’s Eve with someone who you really care, someone who you really love…
In the movie, "When Harry Met Sally", Harry Burns says: “I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible…”
That’s a good start towards the arising New Year I guess! May the breezing winds bring the bliss beyond the horizon of your life... That’s my New Year wish for you all!
